Robbie Carter Walker

October 14, 1931 — December 13, 2022

Early on the morning of Tuesday, December 13, 2022, Robbie Carter Walker, 91, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven.

Mrs. Walker was born on October 14, 1931 in Jeff Davis County, Georgia to the late Robert and Thelma White Carter. After graduating in 1948 from Hazlehurst High School, she married her husband Jeff on August 27, 1950. The young family relocated to Warner Robins in 1954 and eventually settled in Elko in 1976. Mrs. Walker always had a beautiful flower garden and took great pride in caring for her yard. She was also an avid bowler on the Thursday morning Coffee League at Houston Lanes in Williams Plaza. She was a faithful member of Elko Baptist Church. But her greatest priority in life was always her family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she spent her life building a warm, loving home for her family—and she always made sure everyone was fed. She fully supported her husband in everything he did. After both of her parents passed away in 1980, Mrs. Walker became the matriarch of her extended family and would host a large family reunion annually at her home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Joseph Fenton “Jeff” Walker, Jr.; her grandson, Ryan; and her brothers, Samual Carter and Johnnie Carter.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Joyce Griffin (Gene) of Bonaire and Robert “Bobby” Walker (Ann) of Hawkinsville; her grandchildren, Tammy, Joseph, Johnny, and Shane; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Henry J. Carter (Irmgard) of Illinois, Annie Bell of Ellaville, Bessie Lynch (Curtis) of Ocoee, Florida, Betty Joe McKee of Deltona, Florida, and Faye Beckham (Randy) of Barnesville; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation with Mrs. Walker’s family will be Friday, December 16, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Elko Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Holcomb officiating. Following the service, Mrs. Walker will be laid to rest next to her husband in Elko Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Robbie C. Walker to Elko Baptist Church, 184-B Walden Way, Hawkinsville, GA 31036 or Agape Hospice, 645 Tallulah Trail, Suite 202, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
