Robert "Bob" Marsh Jones

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Bob Jones, passed away on the morning of Monday, February 6, 2023, at the age of 86.

Bob was born in Chattanooga, TN on January 30, 1937 to the late William L. and Ghisel Marsh Jones. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country for a few years before joining the United States Navy Reserves from where he retired. Following his military career, Bob began working in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an electrical engineer; he was proud to be a flight test engineer for the H-53 helicopter. When he wasn’t hard at work, he enjoyed fiddling as a Ham radio operator, photographing weddings, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Miriam Shepard Jones; daughters, Pamela Sheffield (Charles, Jr.) and Jennifer Jones; son, Joseph Jones; grandson, Charles Sheffield III (Lauren); great-grandson, Charles Sheffield IV; sister, Dorothy Panzerella; and sister-in-law, Sue Giddens (Terry).

Visitation with Bob’s family will take place on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Bob will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum following the service.
