Roger D. Dancy

Roger D. Dancy entered into rest on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the age of 55. Born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, Roger was the son of the late Rufus Bryant Dancy, Jr. and Thelma Phillips Dancy. Roger enjoyed traveling to the mountains and was a big fan of NASCAR, especially of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He absolutely loved playing UNO and board games. Roger also enjoyed listening to country music with Charlie Pride and Kenny Rogers being two of his favorite artists. It’s been said that Roger was a “fighter” and the strongest person that his family ever knew. No matter how hard life would get, Roger always approached it with a smile on his face. He was a talker with a great personality and he never met a stranger. Roger’s memory will be treasured by his family, friends, and everyone else who was blessed enough to know him.

Roger is survived by his siblings, Randy Allen Dancy, Rodney R. Dancy, Rhonda Dancy, Rebecca Lee (Jamie), and Danielle Bibbins (Jerome); as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service celebrating the life of Mr. Dancy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14 2020, at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
