Ronald David Childs

January 26, 1944 — March 14, 2022

CMSgt. Ronald David Childs, USAF (Ret.) passed away quietly on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the age of 78.

Originally from Lawton, Oklahoma, Ronald had a long, distinguished military career in the United States Air Force, retiring proudly as a Chief Master Sergeant. During his career in the Air Force, Ronald served in the Vietnam War. He met his wife, then Carolyn Ellen Uehling, at a USO Dance while at Whiteman Air Force Base. He retired from Chanute Air Force Base. An avid football fan, Ronald was a Boomer Sooner, cheering for the University of Oklahoma. He loved working with computers and was self-employed after his military career. Ronald was friendly, well-liked, and a great guy. He will be tremendously missed.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, James and Leatha Boyd Childs.

Left to treasure his memory include his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Ellen Uehling Childs; sisters, Sandy Mead of Alabama and Debra Gabel (Ron) of California; as well as several cousins.

At the family’s request, a memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Ronald's memory.
