Rose H. Brooks

Rose H. Wilson Brooks, 96, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

Rose was born on July 1, 1917 in Macon, Georgia to the late William Calvin Hays and Miriam Graves-Hays. She was an active member of the Baptist church since she was eighteen years old and continued to attend Sunday School until the age of 90. First Baptist in Macon was Rose's most recent church home.

While married to E. Ralph Wilson, they owned a neighborhood pharmacy where she ran the gift shop and participated in the Pharmaceutical Axillary. She was also a much-loved member of the Nathaniel Macon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution which was organized in 1905.

Rose loved to travel and often said her favorite trip was one to the Holy Land. She enjoyed her times at Ridgecrest and the fellowship of her Senior travel friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was delightful company. Rose lived a life dedicated to loving God and her family and reached the end with no regrets.

Her siblings, Charles Hays, Sr., Guy Hays, Sr., Murrie Hays Petty, and Miriam Hays Mitchell, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her three children, Miriam Harrison Brown (Roy), Macon, Georgia; Parks Ralph Wilson (Julie), Lafayette, Indiana; and Margaret Wilson Webb (Ken), Thomasville, Georgia; stepson, Dr. Ferrell Brooks, Valdosta, Georgia; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends and extended family at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to your church or to your favorite charity.
