Roy L. Roberts

Roy L. Roberts, 74, entered into rest on Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Roy was born on June 11, 1948, in Royston, Georgia to the late David and Peggy Roberts. Roy dedicated many years in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an Avionics Supervisor before he retired. A one-of-a-kind man, Roy was loved and adored by everyone that knew him. He was a great man at his core; he loved his family, and his church, but especially his sweet wife, Shirley. Slow to anger, Roy was a laid-back peacemaker who was the first to calm any storm. He was a man of many interests; he enjoyed adding to his knife collection whenever he could. He was an enthusiast of all types of food and wholeheartedly enjoyed every meal. Much like Shirley, Roy enjoyed nature and could be found at the beach in his younger years, while trekking mountains later in life.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Angie Martin (Ronnie) of King, North Carolina, Lee Roberts (Stephanie) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Stephanie Harmon (Doug) of Warner Robins, Georgia; his grandchildren, Amber Heard (Michael), Kayla Roberts, Austin McElrath (Chelsea), Justin Martin, and Kyle Roberts; his sister-in-law, Deann Roberts; as well as his seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Just a short day after his passing, Roy’s wife, Shirley passed away. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Roberts.

Visitation with Roy and Shirley’s family will be Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating their lives will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Roy and Shirley be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
