Ruth A. Walker, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of Friday, March 13, 2015.
Ruth was born on February 5, 1930 in Greeneville, Tennessee. For several years, she was a friendly face to each customer she came into contact with as a cashier at Giant Foods. Ruth enjoyed church calling Liberty Baptist her church home. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and old westerns. She loved life, her family and her many friends. Ruth was always there to brighten the lives of others. Her beloved husband of 64 years, Lewis R. Walker; parents, Charles and Lena Nease Rader; and two sisters, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her devoted children, Charles L. Walker (Bonnie) of Hawkinsville and Joyce W. Smith (Randy) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Jeannie Warner (Jarrett), Jeri Gray (Brian), Kelly Harris (Jason), Russell Walker (Jeana), Molly Warmelink (Mike), Toby Smith (Winnie) and Lori Fox; great-grandchildren, Matthew Flippen (Meagan), Nicolas Lonard, Sierra Dobson, Jeslynn Starnes (Avery), Shane Dobson, Erin Gray, Hunter Smith, Michael Warmelink, Madison Harris, Austin Gray, Caroline Gray, Ethan Harris, Rebecca Smith, and Gauge Walker; and great-great grandson, Eric Flippen.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 1026 Kathryn Ryals Road, Warner Robins GA 31088.
