Ruth Ann Rowland

July 29, 1947 — September 14, 2021

Ruth Ann Rowland, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and companion, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the age of 74. She was born in Columbus, IN on July 29, 1947, to the late Cecil and Allie King Taylor, and was of the Baptist faith.

A career stay-at-home mother, wife, and homemaker, caring for others, especially her family, simply came natural to Ruth. She possessed an undeniably huge heart for others and a wonderful enthusiasm for life. In her 74 years, Ruth weathered many life experiences, but never failed to come out stronger on the other side of them. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her faith in the Lord, for her unwavering strength, and for the countless memories she left behind.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney T. Rowland.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Nita Foster (Robert) of Kathleen, Johanna Raper (Hank) of Arabi, Deborah McBride (Tony Belefsky) of Columbus, IN, Johnny McBride (Heather) of Osgood, IN and Laura Rae Bryant (Dylan Crawford) of Greensburg, IN; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and significant other, William Conrad of Arabi.

Ruth will be laid to rest with a graveside memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021, in Andersonville National Cemetery, with Pastor Marty Watson officiating.
