Ruth Gustafson

June 8, 1923 — April 5, 2017

On the evening of Wednesday, April 5, 2017, Ruth Gustafson went to be with her Lord and reunite with her husband, Donald I. Gustafson, in heaven. She was 93 years old.

Ruth was born on June 8, 1923 in Massillon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Hugh and Dessa Davidson. She spent her early childhood in Ohio and grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan where she graduated high school and worked as a secretary. Ruth accepted the Lord as her Savior while attending a gospel hall church.

In her late 20's, Ruth moved with her sister to Miami in hopes of improving her sister's health. She worked for Dr. Milton as his personal secretary and assistant, and also became very involved in the 29th Street Gospel Hall Church. In Miami, Ruth met and married her husband, Donald, and together, they spent their lives serving the Lord with hospitality and preaching at Central Gospel Chapel in Miami. They ended their years of service together at Boulevard Bible Chapel.

After Donald's passing, Ruth moved to Warner Robins to be close to her family. She spent her time faithfully serving in Three Oaks Bible Chapel and enjoying ceramics, walking, doing puzzles, and letter writing. She dedicated her life to faithfully serving the Lord, her husband, and raising her children. Ruth provided a good life for her two children and they will forever remember all of the good memories they created together.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Davidson, Jr. and sister, Thelda Liewellan.

Ruth leaves her memory behind with her loving children, Sharon Skillen (Tom) of Warner Robins and Don Gustafson (Tanja) of Jupiter, Florida; grandchildren, Ryan Skillen (Elizabeth), Robbie Skillen, and Richard Skillen; great-grandchildren, Ezri and Emry Skillen; sister, Martha Frow; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11th at Three Oaks Bible Chapel, 3350 Avondale Mill Road, Macon, GA 31216. A reception will follow at the church with light refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ruth to a Christian service organization called Christian Missions in Many Lands, Inc., P.O. Box 13, Spring Lake, NJ 07762-0013, https://www.cmml.us/giving.
