Ruth Logan, 85, joined her beloved husband of 64 years, Kenneth W. Logan in heaven on Thursday, November 1, 2018,
Ruth was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 8, 1933 to the late Dr. Byron and Mrs. Marie Medsker Ashley. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1951 and attended Mayport before transferring to Kansas State University. Ruth was a homemaker whose proudest accomplishment was raising her four boys.
Her faith in God was strong throughout her life. Ruth was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Hope Sunday School Class where she served in countless missions. Her generosity and tireless efforts significantly impacted her local community as she was a founding member of WRLT, was an active board member for the Salvation Army and Safe House,, and foster care advocate. For the American Lung Association, she and the late Mr. Logan biked from the West to East Coast in 1986 and cycled from Florida to Maine for the Methodist Children’s Home.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Mike and Byron; and brother, John Ashley, MD.
Ruth’s is survived by her loving sons, Kevin Logan (Annette) of Warner Robins and David Logan (Teresa) of Jackson; grandchildren, Christopher Logan of Warner Robins, Cynthia McBride (Caleb) of Lexington, South Carolina, Whitney Rada (Andrew) of Killeen, Texas, Steven Logan (Heather) of Warner Robins, and Erin Logan of Lakeway, Texas; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Jones of Wichita, Kansas.
A memorial service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Hutto officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Ruth will be laid to rest in a private graveside service for the family at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ruth to the Hope Sunday School Class at Trinity United Methodist Church, 129 S. Houston Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Logan’s arrangements.
