Ruth S. Moody

August 15, 1931 — February 24, 2021

The matriarch of her family, an adored mother, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth S. Moody, passed away early on the morning of Wednesday, February 24, 2021. She was 89 years old.

Mrs. Moody was born on August 15, 1931, in Schenectady, New York, to the late Henry Albert Schauffler and Marguerite Williams. She worked as a Financial Counselor at the St. Joseph Medical Center for several years before her retirement. She also worked and volunteered at the United Service Organizations (USO). Since the 1970’s, Mrs. Moody enjoyed her home business where she made and decorated wedding, birthday, and special occasion cakes.

Mrs. Moody was a talented musician and singer who loved singing and playing in her local community theatre’s musical productions. Along with her son, Rick, she did a number of performances at Southwest Michigan Community College and at the Tinshop Community Theatre, both in Michigan, before moving to Warner Robins where she performed at the Warner Robins Little Theatre (W.R.L.T). She was also an avid member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as a choir director, elder, and a deacon. Thinking of others first, she always had a servant’s heart and was willing to be a part of any church activity. All that were fortunate enough to have known Mrs. Moody will forever cherish her beautiful memory.

Her legacy will live on through her beloved husband, Richard Moody of 48 years; daughter, Margaret Phillips (Steve) of Warner Robins, their children, Thomas D. Campbell (Karen) of Social Circle, and their children, Abigail Ewer (Rusty) of Austell and Joshua of Social Circle; son, Robert “Denny” Campbell and his children, Jata, Denver, and Demi Ann, all of Wilmington, North Carolina; daughter, Tiffany Powell (Chris) of Texas; son, Robert D. Beers, Jr. (Chris) of Bonaire, their children, Robert Beers III (Carly), and their children, Flora June and Calvin Archer of Woodstock and Timothy (Kimberly) and their children, Brayden and Brookelynn, all of Bonaire; daughter, Arlene Holoman (Mike) of Greensboro, North Carolina, their children, Justin Holoman (Mallory) and his daughter, Parker of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Jeffery Holoman (Kelley), and their children, William Randolph and Palmer and Jenna Uris (Shane), all of Greensboro, North Carolina; son, Ronald P. Beers (Terry Ann) of Montgomery, Alabama, their children, Rachel Fisher (Chase) and their children, Laurel and Lockwood, all of Montgomery, Alabama and Rebecca Frederick (Bee) of Alabama; son, Henry Beers (Suzanne) of Macon and their children, Jon Henry, Harrison, and Jack, all of Macon, daughter, Cathy Lee (Ron) of Bonaire, their children, Crystal Lee and her son, Paxton Robertson of Bonaire, Carly Lee of Warner Robins and Cassie Lee of Atlanta; and son, Rick Moody, Jr. (Reagan) of Michigan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by siblings, Alfred Schauffler and Clara Lawhorn.
