Sfc William "Bill" Franklin Fowler, Us Army (Ret.)

William “Bill” Franklin Fowler, born on February 17, 1930 in Warwick, Georgia to the late Clara Bell and Andrew Jackson Fowler, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. He was 90 years old.

A proud 25-year United States Army Veteran, Bill served his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired having attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Subsequent to his military career, Bill continued his service to our country for another 15 years as a Civil Servant at Robins Air Force Base. Those who knew Bill knew him as the quintessential handyman and a true jack of all trades who could do or fix anything. He could otherwise be described as a strong and loving man of the Baptist faith with a sweet spot for old Westerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Heath; his stepson, Robert Craig; and his sisters, Evelyn Watson, Doris Jonier, Dorothy Bracher, and Carolina Ratliff.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 36 years, Barbara Lee Fowler of Byron; children, Diane Guthrie (Doug) and Jean Peacock, both of Macon, and Margie Talbert (Trace) and Nugie Fowler, both of Louisiana; stepsons, Michael Craig (Tonya) of Macon, Mark Craig (Gail) of Perry and Jeff Craig (Amy) of Florida; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Fowler and Robert Fowler (Wanda); sisters, Betty Shorts of Meigs, Georgia and Jackie Hall (Charlie) of Lillian, Alabama.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Bill will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
