Sgm. Manuel López, Usa (Ret.)

August 20, 1940 — August 10, 2020

A Vietnam War veteran, Manuel López passed away at his residence on the morning of Monday, August 10, 2020. He was 79 years old.

Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, Manuel was the son of the late Ricardo López Huertas and Milagros Feliciano.

On January 4, 1964, Manuel met and married his wife of 56 years, Genoveva Salcedo López. They had three beautiful children together, Manuel López, Jr., Elizabeth López Mullens, and Evelyn López.

Manuel enlisted in the United States Army on April 2, 1959. He proudly served for 30 years before retiring as Sergeant Major on April 30, 1989.

After his retirement, he pursued his passion for music and became a music producer and promoter in Puerto Rico. As Manuel grew older, he realized that his time on this earth was growing shorter. He then chose to pursue his even greater love, spending time with family. Along with his wife, Manuel made the permanent move to Warner Robins, Georgia, in order to be closer to his family members.

In addition to his wife and children, Manuel is survived by his two sons-in-law, Joseph Mullens and Eddie Ruiz; grandchildren, Laura Janet López, Dakota Alejandro López-Albert, Katryna Mia López, Daniell O’neil Ruiz-López, Jayden Javier López-Mullens, Leila Jaslene Ruiz-López; two great-grandchildren, Evan Alejandro Butcher and one on the way, Cassius Xavier López-Albert; two brothers, and seven sisters.
