In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 13, 2016, Albert Harbuck, age 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven.

Al was born on April 29, 1938 in Cusseta, Georgia and grew up in Columbus. In 1956, he graduated from Jordan High School, then attended Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland. Mr. Harbuck bravely joined the United States Air Force in 1959 serving his country during the Vietnam War. Throughout his military career, he was a weather equipment superintendent and retired in 1979 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

Following Al's military retirement, he worked with several military contractors supporting the efforts of Robins Air Force Base. He possessed a true servant's heart and played a key role in constructing the Heart of Georgia Developmental Disabilities Ministries, Inc. home. Mr. Harbuck was also instrumental in Houston County Habitat for Humanity. Al was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was involved with Helping Hands. He enjoyed woodworking, and playing the piano, as well. His love for Christ, people, and most importantly his family will forever live on in the hearts of everyone he knew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Albert Harbuck and Eula Mae Watson.

His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted wife of 55 years, Anna "Lorene" Harbuck of Warner Robins; daughters, Natalie Powell (Rick) of Prattville, Alabama, Melanie Day (Rich Scuderi) of Bonaire, and Cindy Harbuck of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Heather and Allison Powell, Chelsea Johnston (Stephen), and Cory Day; great-grandchildren, Conley and Arilyn Johnston; sisters, Pat Culpepper (Donnie) of Columbus and Sue Clanton of Athens; and four nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 15th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16th at Second Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Slade officiating. Afterwards, Al will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
