Dennis “Red” Brothers, 74, entered into rest on Saturday, December 8, 2018.

Dennis Jay Brothers always known as “Red” was born on September 27, 1944 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to the late Paul Brothers and Julia Smith Brothers. He joined the United States Air Force after high school and served his country for over 26 years before retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Red had a passion for drag racing. He was an avid race car driver and former Warner Robins Dragway driver. Red was famous in the racing world here in Middle Georgia for his car, “The Demon” which started off as his family automobile.

Red loved his family dearly. He was always there for them. Red took great pride in attending his grandchildren’s activities from sporting to school events. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 53 years, Katy Brothers; children, Samantha Brothers of Warner Robins, Georgia, Richard Brothers (Melissa) of Bonaire, Georgia, and Timothy “Timmy” Brothers of Byron Georgia; grandchildren, Zech Brothers, Ollie Brothers, and Tyler Brothers; and siblings; Joyce Brothers, and Spencer Brothers.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Dennis “Red” Jay Brothers to United Cerebral Palsy, 1660 L St. NW Ste. 700, Washington DC, 20036 or to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A., Macon Georgia 31201.
