Smsgt. Kenneth Wayne Cullum, Usaf (Ret.)

February 20, 1945 — December 17, 2017

Kenneth Cullum, 72, joined his beloved wife, Erlinda, in heaven on Sunday, December 17, 2017.

Kenneth was born on February 20, 1945 in Limon, Colorado. A retired Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served his country for 24 years in the United States Air Force and also worked for Orkin Pest Control for 11 years. Kenneth was a hard worker who always provided for his family. He prided himself in being an Eagle Scout and frequently took his family camping and fishing when they were younger. Kenneth was also a wise teacher and counselor and would never let you quit. He loved going to all of the kids’ sporting events and always made them put forth their best efforts in everything they did.

You always knew where you stood with Kenneth as he was straight-forward and said what was on his mind at all times. He was willing to try new things, especially new foods and was a great storyteller about his childhood. Kenneth’s odd but lovable sense of humor and love for his family will live in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erlinda Medina Cullum; his father, Albert Cullum; and his mother and stepfather, Edith Hawkins and Lauren Weeder.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Gene Cullum of Kathleen and Edie Harrison of Johns Creek, Georgia; granddaughter, Sydney Harrison; siblings, Gerald Cullum of Alabama, James H. Leach, Willard E. and Warren K. Cullum, all of Colorado, Gail C. Gordley of Nebraska, Joy Cullum of Nevada, and Pamela L. Abbot of Nebraska; and partner, Flora Collins.

Kenneth will be laid to rest in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado in Spring 2018.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Cullum’s arrangements.
