September 15, 1930 — June 24, 2018

Sam Meador, 87, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Sam was born on September 15, 1930 in Tampa, Florida to the late Samuel Meador and Serena York Shutt. A proud Korean War Veteran he served 28 years in the United States Air Force. Sam had a giving heart; he was always willing to help others and loved the company and conversation of good people. His favorite pastimes were backseat driving, collecting coins and cheering on his beloved Florida State Seminoles. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with his family including his grand-dogs.

His loving wife, Ola Meador, son, Sam A. Meador, Jr., and daughter, Janet K. Holmes, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Nancy Littlefield of Panama City, Florida; Sue McMahan (Don) of Warner Robins, Celia Starling of Panama City, Florida, John Meador (Lisa) of Warner Robins, Sara Gerard of Tallahassee, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Keel of Dothan, Alabama, and son-in-law, Wally Holmes of Hillsboro, Oregon.

Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2018 from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. After the service, Sam will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum with full military honors.
