Smsgt Walter Victor Smith

Walter Smith, 70, entered into rest on Saturday, April 9, 2016.

Walter was born on August 15, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Walter and Grace Smith. With pride and honor he served his country for twenty four years in the United States Air Force. During his time of service, Walter received the Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Outstanding Unit Medal, and fought during the Vietnam War. After his military retirement, Walter dedicated fifteen years of service at Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin until his final retirement.

His brothers, Donald Smith, Charlie Smith, and Kenneth Smith, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Stephanie Smith; step-sons, Bertram Harvey and Garrett Vance, both of Warner Robins; sister, Barbara Allenda of California; mother-in-law, Mollie Irene Felder of Perry; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Smith of North Carolina; Helen Clark of Unadilla; Eloise Dodson (Mike) of Warner Robins; Rena Felder of Perry; MaryAnn Radford of Atlanta; brothers-in-laws, Eddie Feldon (Gwen) of Denver, Colorado; George Felder (Brenda) of Warner Robins; Leon Felder of California; Timothy Felder of Denver, Colorado; Michael Felder (Landa) of Macon, as well as several loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation with Walter's family will be Friday, April 15, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Walter will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors.
