Ssg Larry Lynn Corzine, Us Army (Ret.)

Larry Corzine, 72, entered into rest on Thursday, October 5, 2017.

Larry was born on January 19, 1945 in Atlanta, Texas to the late Jess and Juanita Blaylock Corzine. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army, having fought during Vietnam. During his Vietnam tour, he received the Purple Heart and Silver Star for his courage and valor. An athlete himself, Larry played football in high school and college and then went on to be a charter member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials for over forty years. He was an official for high school and college football and wrote rules and regulations for various sports. He enjoyed overseeing football and girls fast pitch softball. Having lived most of his life among Dallas, Fort Worth and lastly North Richland Hills, Texas, he spent the last four and a half years in Warner Robins.

Larry was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday school class. He was a deacon, sang for the Nursing Home gospel group, the Old Time gospel group, and was a member of the personnel committee at church. Larry was a strong believer in Jesus with a faith that was evident to those that ever met him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Randy and Laurue.

His beloved wife of fifty-one years, Gwen Corzine; children, Larry Corzine (Theresa, PhD.) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Chris Corzine (Andrea) of Kathleen; grandchildren, Candice (Wes), Nicole (Capt. Jimmy), Dr. Aphton, Aly and Eli; great grandchildren, Cason and Ellie and brother, Buddy Corzine of Texas.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Andersonville National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of Larry Corzine to the Georgia FFA Foundation P.O. Box 237, Swainsboro, Georgia 30401 or Friendship Baptist Church Transportation Fund 1332 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
