Ssgt. Earle Damon Gibson, Usaf (Ret.)

On the evening of Sunday, September 30, 2018, Earle Damon Gibson went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. He was 85 years old.

Earle was born in Danville, Virginia on March 16, 1933 to the late Clifton and Blanche Gibson. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years and retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Earle went on to retire from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, as well. A sports fanatic, he enjoyed going fishing and listening to music, especially Bluegrass. Earle was of the Baptist faith.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 36 years, Julia Shurling Gibson; children, Blayne Gibson, Wanda London, Jody Gibson, Earle Gibson, Gail Gibson, Debbie Kumsomboone, and Patty White; several grandchildren; brother, Woody Gibson; and his very best friend, John Patterson.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cleghorn officiating. Afterwards, Earle will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
