Jay Carter Bentley, 39, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 21, 2008.

Mr. Bentley was born on March 25, 1969, in Savannah, Georgia. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army for fourteen years, with assignments in Cuba, Korea, Iraq and most recently as a recruiter under the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a member of Oglethorpe Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia.

His memory will forever be treasured by his parents, Neal and Amanda Bentley, Decatur, Alabama; sister, Lisa Amanda (Winston Clark) Herren, Decatur, Alabama; niece, Callie Grace Herren, Decatur, Alabama; uncles and aunts, Leroy and Mary Lee Carter, Warner Robins, Charles and Barbara Carter, Warner Robins, Alma Carter Hollis, Warner Robins, Joyce Carter, Warner Robins, Janice and Gary Jones, Americus, Georgia; and several cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2008, in Parkway Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Contributions can be made to the donor's favorite charity.
