Sallie Keene Vail

Sallie Keene Vail, 100, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 19, 2010.

Ms. Vail was born on December 13, 1909 in Pitts, Georgia, and was a devoted homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Retired Chief Deputy Sherriff of Houston County Joe Lamar Keene, Sr.; second husband, Joseph Vail; son, Lamar Keene, Jr.; and parents, Lonnie Britt and Rosa Britt.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her grandchildren, Teresa Ball, Sparta, Georgia; Wyatt Keene (Barbara), Gwen Keene, Jay Keene and Britt Keene (Shanna), all of Macon; daughter-in-law, Nita Hoffman (Clyde), Macon; nine great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Hugh Kinsey officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery in Abbeville, Georgia. Family will receive friends at the home of Britt & Shanna Keene, 2220 Saint Claire Drive, Macon.
