Sammie O. Mitchell

Sammie O. Mitchell, 84, entered into rest on Thursday, December 26, 2013.

Sammie was born on February 7, 1929 in Crawford County, Georgia and was a devout member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church. A graduate of Warner Robins High School, Sammie retired from Robins Air Force Base after many years of civil service. He enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers and was known for his delicious strawberries. His wife, Lenna Mae Mitchell and parents, Grady Cleveland and Lizzie Mae Mitchell, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Cathy Tedder (Robin), Perry; Timothy Mitchell, Macon; and Phyllis Maulden (Hal), Cartersville; five grandchildren, Amanda Allen, Justus Tedder, Jane and John Mitchell, and McKenna Maulden; and two great-grandchildren, Leya and Sadie Allen

Visitation will be Sunday, December 29, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be follow at 3:30 p.m. at Lamar Memory Gardens in Barnesville. Reverend Robin Tedder and Mr. Frank Abbott will officiate.
