Sandra Jeanne "Sandy" Scott

May 11, 1942 — February 19, 2016

Sandy Scott, 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 19, 2016.

Sandy was born on May 11, 1942 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late Jack and Ann Jordan. She grew up moving to and from many different places as her father served in the United States Coast Guard and Army. While in Columbus, Georgia, Sandy met her future husband, Wayne, while he was stationed at Fort Benning with the Air Force. They married in 1964 and raised three loving children.

A fantastic mother who constantly gave of herself before others and loved without reservation, Sandy always smiled, even if she were in pain. She always wanted to be around people and loved to talk about her family. She was an amazing joy to be around, a strong influence on others, and an honest and gentle friend to all who know her.

Sandy's greatest accomplishment was giving birth to her children and teaching them about the love of God. She grew in them the love and admiration of Jesus Christ and helped lead them to salvation. Sandy was always part of the WMU (Women's Missionary Union), Sunday School, Choir, and Youth helper as her children were growing up. She also enjoyed assisting in the Children's Department and teaching Girls in Action.

She proudly participated on the Queens Court in the 2013Summerhill Senior Living Community Beauty Pageant and won "Queen" in the 2014 Peachbelt Nursing Home Beauty Pageant. Sandy leaves behind a bunch of Gaither albums, Elvis records, and various knick-knacks that her children have no idea what to do with, HAHA, but that is the joy of knowing this lovely lady.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Scott.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Dale Eric Scott, James Wayne "Jim" Scott, and Patti Ann Goff; sister, Jackie Oswald; and a number of adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5th at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be private.
