Sara D. Belflower

On the morning of Tuesday, October 10, 2017, Sara Belflower, 88, entered into eternal rest.

Sara was born in Moultrie, Georgia on April 23, 1929 to the late Walter J. and Zara Montgomery Dorch. She retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an item manager. Sara was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was very active and revered with love. She was also an adored member of the Senior Citizens of Centerville and the Cantrell Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Danny R. Cox and four siblings.

Sara leaves her memory behind with her loving daughter, Cathy S. Alford (Spurgeon) of Columbus; grandchildren, Jason Cox, Daina Lamb, Jonathan Payne (Sunette) and Ami Payne; great-grandchildren, Elliot and Madeliene Payne, and Carson Cox; daughter-in-law, Deborah Cox of Maiden, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, Ms. Belflower will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
