Saul B. Corday

Saul Corday, 92, walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Saul was born on March 23, 1925 in the Rocky Mountains of Southern New Mexico. He attended local schools and graduated from high school as valedictorian. Saul went on to attend New Mexico State University in the College of Civil Engineering.

After WWII, Saul started working at Holloway Air Force Base, New Mexico and in early 1950, he married the beautiful Rose Sainz. They had two sons and lived in Tularosa, New Mexico. In 1970, Saul was transferred to Robins Air Force Base. While attending Trinity United Methodist Church, the family decided to help start Christ United Methodist Church and became Charter members on May 12, 1972. There, Saul served on the Board of Trustees and as Church Historian and received a Distinguished Service Award for his many contributions. He retired in 1983 and served as a volunteer at Houston Medical Center.

In addition to his parents, Saul was preceded in death by his younger brother, Gary Corday, and son, Gary S. Corday.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rose, son, Bernard (partner, Jim), sister-in-law, Dolores Sainz, nieces, Cindy (Paul), Kristin (Doug), Chris (Terry), and Bert (Remmy), and many great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 4th at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Matt Stewart officiating.
