Seth S. Haslam

April 13, 1930 — June 14, 2013

Seth S. Haslam, 83, entered into rest to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 14, 2013.

Seth was born on April 13, 1930 in Wellsville, Utah on a small farm to Alvin M. Haslam and Thelma Stuart Haslam, who preceded him in death. He received his B.S. Degree from Brigham Young University (BYU) and is retired Civil Service from Robins Air Force Base. Seth had a passion for building, whether it was the many beautiful homes in Houston County area or the several day care centers he built. He was the Founder of Children's Friend Learning Center which was later sold to his partners and in 2002 and he built and opened Children's Best Learning Center with his wife Nancy and a friend. Seth had a great love for children and wanted excellent childcare for them.

He will always be remembered for his integrity, dedication and hard work, not only in his business, but also to the LDS Church he so loved and served. He was on the original building committee for the Church in Warner Robins and served in several called positions. His motto in life was always one of optimism and "when you fall down, get up."

His memory will forever be treasured by his loyal and loving wife, Nancy Brooks-Haslam of Warner Robins, Georgia; children, David K. Haslam, Tami Haslam (Basil), and Lynn Brooks Owens; grandchildren, Shane and Jason Miller, Summar Haslam Hoopes (Aaron), Tyler, Shari, and Jesse Haslam, and Ashley Owens; six great-grandchildren; dear brother, Dean Haslam (Betty) of Wellsville, Utah; beloved cousin, Deon Stuart of Kaysville, Utah; and many loving nieces and nephews in the Utah area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon "Shari" Haslam Blair, RN, in 1997.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at LDS Church on Draper Street with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens on Carl Vinson Parkway. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be given to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, 1660 L St NW Ste. 700, Washington, DC 20036.
