Sgt. Timothy Alan "Tim" Chapman, Hcso (Ret.)

June 5, 1964 — April 14, 2021

Retired Sheriff's Deputy, Tim Chapman, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.

Tim was a native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, where he graduated from Southern Wayne Senior High School. From 1982 until 1992, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Security Police Law Enforcement Specialist. Tim aided the military during the Gulf War and in 1986 he was stationed at Robins Air Force Base. Subsequent to his military career, he began working as a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Tim attained the rank of Sergeant and worked in many capacities with the HCSO including as a Detention Officer, Patrol Division Officer, and finishing as a School Resource Officer before his recent retirement. In his leisure time, Tim was an avid bowler at Gold Cup Bowling Center and absolutely loved spending time with all of his friends there. He also enjoyed playing the guitar at local venues and fellowshipping with friends at the International City Optimist Club. Tim was a wonderful, caring man who had a terrific personality. He was loved and respected by many and will be deeply missed by his family as well as all those who were fortunate to have called him a friend.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Chapman; his daughter, Rebekah Chapman; his sister, Lisa Halsey; his maternal grandparents, Eddie and Grace Tyndall; and paternal grandparents, Carley and Lucy Chapman.

Those left to cherish Tim’s memory are his loving mother, Ann Tyndall Chapman of Goldsboro, North Carolina; daughter, Elisabeth Chapman of Gray; grandchildren, Nathan Watson, Gracelyn Hullett, Maci Martin and Mia Martin; special friends, Rose Elliott, and Steve and Jimmy Walker; and a host of other friends who are going to miss him dearly.

Tim’s family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Friday, April 16, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Daron Gray and Reverend Eddie Wilcox officiating. Tim will be laid to rest next to his daughter, Rebekah, in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.

The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be given in memory of Tim to Middle Georgia Youth Bowling Association, 109 Ginko Lane, Kathleen, GA 31047.
