Shirley Mae Wasurick

Shirley Mae Wasurick, 83, joined her beloved husband, Gene Wasurick in Heaven on Sunday, January 10, 2016.

Shirley was born on January 5, 1933 in Somers, Wisconsin to the late Emil and Gertrude VandeSand Bose. Before moving to the Middle Georgia Area in 2004, she owned and operated her own dry cleaning business called Golden Girl Cleaners in California. Shirley found a new home at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Golden Hearts. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and playing cards in her free time.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her daughters, Susan Carby and Cheryl Campbell; granddaughter, Jessica Diaz; and siblings, Charles Bose, Emil Bose, Jr., and Eleanor Schappert.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Linda Schmidt (Butch) of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Mary Diaz (Richard) of Manteca, California, Jeffrey Wasurick (Geralyne) of Tracy, California, and Janette West (Jason) of Kathleen; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley will be held on Friday, January 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church (7207 – 14th Ave.). Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. Parish Prayer Rosary Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday (TODAY) with a visitation starting after until 7:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Shirley Mae Wasurick to Pruitt Health Hospice, 6060 Lakeside Commons Dr., Macon, GA 31210 or Alzheimers Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, GA 31201.
