Steve Monday, 50, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Steve was born on February 10, 1966 in Warner Robins, Georgia to the late Paul and Eileen Monday. He graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1984, before attending Georgia Southern University where he received a Bachelor in Science in Secondary Education. Following Georgia Southern, Steve taught at Tabor Middle School for two years then taught and coached at Houston County High School for eight years. Steve decided to further his education, obtaining a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Troy State University. In 2000 he returned to his alma mater as the assistant principal. Steve was chosen in 2004 to serve as Interim Principal and 6 months later was permanently hired as the Principal of Warner Robins High School. Due to his leadership, Warner Robins High School has been recognized several times as a Title 1 Distinguished School. Steve was a true "Warner Robins Demon" who loved his school, school family, and supported academics and athletes at WRHS. He was also an incredible father; he always enjoyed being a big part of his children's lives. Through the years he was always supportive of them in sports, activities and everything they pursued. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Along with his parents, his brother, Paul Curtis Monday, Jr., preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Matthew Paul Monday and Katherine Taylor Monday, both of Warner Robins; sisters, Sue Nash (Strud) of Macon; Lisa Mingee (Dexter) and Nancy Lindsey (Keith), all of Warner Robins; special friend, Chris Gibson of Warner Robins; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation with Steve's family will be Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Central Baptist Church. Following the service, Steve will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or they ask for donations to be given in memory of Stephen Monday to APOE gene research at Duke University at 710 West Main St. Suite 200, Durham, NC 27701 or www.dukemed@mc.duke.edu or the American Kidney Association, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. Due to Steve's dedication to education, his family asks for these donations to APOE to help with his contribution to further gene research. With these donations, Steve's legacy as an educator will continue to transcend further generations.
