Stephen John Miller

November 1, 1959 — April 20, 2022

Stephen John Miller, age 62, passed away peacefully at home on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 20, 2022. He was born in San Antonio, TX on November 1, 1959, the son of the late Robert and Barbara Hobbs Miller.

Stephen grew up in a military family having moved all over before settling in Warner Robins at about the age of six. In 1978, he graduated from Warner Robins High School where he loved participating in playing football and running track. Stephen went on to earn a degree in Electronics from Middle Georgia College and proudly joined the United States Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant, with four years of service. Following his time in the military, Stephen began working for a cable company in Acworth, GA before opening his own bucket truck business as an independent contractor. He moved to the Warner Robins area 16 years ago to continue his bucket truck business, until taking on a career in electronics on airplanes at Robins Air Force Base five years ago.

Stephen was dedicated businessman, but was first and foremost a family man who loved his wife, stepchildren and step-grandchildren with all of his heart. There was never a doubt by anyone about how much Stephen truly loved each of them. He was undeniably caring, giving, and had the patience of a saint; he would give anyone the shirt off his back. On top of spending time with family and friends, Stephen was a great cook, loved playing golf and was an avid football fan. The Super Bowl was something he looked forward to celebrating each year with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing karaoke, especially duets with his wife, Iris.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Miller; and his brother-in-law, Dave Burkhart.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 4 years, Iris Miller of Kathleen; stepchildren, Sarah Michels of Cochran, Hannah Cook of Atlanta and Stephen Gendron of Acworth; step-grandchildren, Jace Cumbie, Ayden Carrita, Noah Ragus and Jonah Gendron; and sisters, Rita Miller and Rhonda Burkhart.

A memorial service celebrating Stephen’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Reverend Bruce Brookshire officiating. Military honors will be rendered.
