Steven Gregory Thompson

May 11, 1982 — February 6, 2020

Steven Gregory Thompson, 37, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2020.

Greg was first and foremost an amazing father. From the moment his little Pumpkinhead was placed in his arms, his life was changed forever. He was a man of wisdom, strength, loyalty, and courage. He loved his family and friends, and you surely would know that by the amount of time and effort he put into assuring their happiness and safety. Greg was a selfless man. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and come to you at any hour if you needed him. He had such a contagious laugh, and his smile would brighten any room. Greg had a great capacity for love and was an amazing and loving husband and father.

Possessing impeccable wood skills, Greg was always one who took great pride in building fences and other things. He definitely dabbled in a lot of things that involved building and using his hands. Greg always said he did not have much patience except for fishing, but he disproved that many times when fixing things. He was a fixer—not only of things, but of people. He always looked for the good in everyone and was the best friend a person could have. Greg loved animals, and was known to stop working at a client’s house if he had the opportunity to love on a dog, which you usually found him on the ground playing with him. He always wanted to be helpful and was loyal almost to a fault, but that’s what selfless people do. They love with everything they have and ask nothing in return.

Greg will always be remembered for the amazing person he was and still is. Even though he is gone, he will still remain in our hearts, reminding us of what is important in our lives—each other. He is so loved and will be missed every moment of every day. We love you, Greg.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife, Allie Thompson; his daughter, Makayla Thompson; his mother, Robin Brown (Scott) of West Monroe, Louisiana; his sister, Mandy Thompson of Monroe, Louisiana; his mother-in-law, Susan Potts (Thomas) of Bonaire; his father-in-law, John Potts of Lakeside, Arizona; his brother-in-law, Jason Potts, of Mesa, Arizona; his nephew, Stetson Thompson of West Monroe, Louisiana; his niece, Marlie Potts of Macon; and his beloved dog, Daisy.
