Sylvia and her late husband, Carlton, were longtime owners of Giant Foods.
Sylvia was the widow of the late Carlton H. Slocum, to whom she was married for 55 years until his passing in 2013. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Anna Hobbs and sister, Alice Gilleran. She was born on April 2, 1939, in Thompson, Pennsylvania.
