Tsgt. Charles E. Kline, Usaf (Ret.)

January 22, 1937 — September 6, 2017

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 6, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Charles Kline, 80, passed away surrounded by his family.

Charles was born on January 22, 1937 in Independence, Missouri to the late Nicholas and Opel Myers Kline. As a young man, he was President Harry Truman’s newspaper boy. After his high school graduation, Charles joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served during Vietnam and retired after 21 years. Later, he began his career as an Avionics Technician at Robins Air Force Base where he retired after many years of faithful service. Charles was the President of the Full Gospel Business Man’s Association. He always had an excellent work ethic even after he became ill. Charles always enjoyed time spent outdoors especially working in his yard. However, his greatest joy was found in his beloved family.

Along with his parents, his brother, Robert Kline, and grandson, Wesley Kline, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 58 years, Margie Kline of Warner Robins; sons, Charles Kline, Jr. (Esther) of Macon; Nicholas Kline of Warner Robins; grandsons, Jeremy Kline, Jacob Kline (Hope), Jonathan Kline; and sisters, Martha Paul of Independence, Missouri and Betty Thomas of Raytown, Missouri.

Visitation will be Friday, September 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Christ Chapel. Following the service, Charles will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Charles E. Kline to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or the P.I.R. at P.O. Box 64934, Virginia Beach, VA 23467.
