Tsgt Edwin Haywood Usher, Usaf (Ret)

Edwin Haywood Usher, 77, entered into rest on Thursday, December 2, 2010.

Mr. Usher was born on February 4, 1933 in Rose Hill, North Carolina to the late Leo Conner Usher and Alice Brice Usher. After twenty one years of faithful service, TSgt Usher proudly retired from the United States Air Force as a Cryptographic Maintenance Technician. Prior to joining the United States Air Force, Mr. Usher enlisted in the United States Army for two years. Subsequent to his military career, he retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he worked in Electronics. Edwin was a devoted, loving family man and a tireless community servant. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the United Sons of the Confederacy. Of the Baptist faith, he was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Rose Hill, North Carolina. His parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Josephine Lowery Usher; children, Stephen Usher; Kenny Usher (Shay), all of Warner Robins; Donna Faye Moore (Phil), Milton, FL; and David Michael Usher (Sandi); step daughters, Connie T. Pierce; Beverly Davis (Ronnie), all of Warner Robins; and Linda C. Mullis, Macon; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and his beloved siblings, Howard Usher (Elizabeth), Hallie Usher, Wilbur Usher, and Ruby Blanchard.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, December 5, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Christopher Peavy officiating. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations to Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
