Tsgt. George Llewellyn Blanton, Usaf (Ret.)

March 1, 1930 — November 8, 2018

George L. Blanton, 88, joined his beloved wife, Anna Mae Blanton in heaven on the morning of November 8, 2018.

George was born in New Boston, Ohio on March 1, 1930 the son of the late George Washington and Virginia Rice Blanton. He retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an engineer after many years of dedicated service. Prior to that, George served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. He loved building things and spending time with his family and friends. George was a musician and loved playing the piano and listening to music. He also loved the outdoors and gardening.

In addition to Anna Mae and his parents, George was also preceded in death by his sisters, Olivia Blanton and Lillian Blanton Lee.

His memory will forever be treasured by his niece, Debbie Scott (Ramon) and brother in law Joe Lee.

Graveside services will be held at Bonaire Cemetery on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Paul Cowles officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Blanton’s arrangements.
