Talmadge Segars

Talmadge Segars, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

Talmadge was born in Carnesville, GA, on March 31st, 1933, to the late Fred and Ruby Segars. Talmadge served a brief stint in the U.S. Army and moved to Warner Robins with his family in the 1950’s. He operated one of the first taxi cab services in the city and later owned and operated Houston Pipeline Inc. for over 20 years. Talmadge was also an accomplished welder and plumber and a wizard on his Caterpillar backhoe. Talmadge married Ernestine Cowart in 1960 and together they had four children. He enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with family. Central Baptist Church was his church home where he enjoyed attending the contemporary service.

His parents, Fred and Ruby Segars, siblings, Everette Segars, Jeneatte Segars, Patricia Hines and Billie Segars, and daughter, Angie Segars Gandy, preceded him in death.
Talmadge is survived by children, Teresa Gammage (Mark Helms) of Warner Robins, Robin Smith (Mike) of Warner Robins and Tammie Segars (Gary Thomas) of Byron; grandchildren, Chris Segars (Lindsey), Christan Helms Pickett (Steve), Karla Gandy, Melissa Gandy, Kym Gandy McAtee (Austin), Spencer Segars (Taylor), Suzanne Smith, Hunt Smith (Mary Ivy) and Gary Thomas, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Freddie Greenway of Warner Robins and Joyce Rosenquest of Eatonton.

Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Owen Bozeman officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
