Terry Wayne O'Rear

Terry Wayne O’Rear, 57, born in Birmingham, Alabama, gained his wings and won his battle on February 15, 2020, when he was called home. He retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic for over 20 years.

Terry spent most of his fall nights for 25 years on a football field. He loved refereeing all sports, but football was where he felt most at home.

Terry and his girls had a special bond and grew to be friends as they became adults. Aaron was his pride and joy and his only son. He affectionately referred to Stefani as his “guard dog”, Tori as his “road dog”, and Aaron as “mini me.” He adored his grandsons from the moment they were born and decided to be called Big Papa.

Survivors include his daughters, Stefani Evans (Caleb) and Tori O’Rear (Alec); son, Aaron O’Rear; grandchildren, Carter Wayne Evans and Finnick Timothy Evans; parents, Wayne O’Rear (Mary); siblings, Lisa Carpenter (Hugh), Dedra King (Scott), Harold Dobbins (Nina), Tod Humphries (Judy), and Dodie Wilson; three nieces; nine nephews; four great-nieces; and four great-nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Sherri O’Rear; mother, Wilma O’Rear; brother, Ray O’Rear; and grandparents, Jack and Lucille O’Rear and James and Katie Smith.

Services will be held in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m.
