Thomas Jackson Stokes

June 3, 1992 — November 6, 2016

In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 6, 2016, T.J. Stokes passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was 24 years old.

Born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia, T.J. made his entrance into the world on June 3, 1992. He was a 2010 graduate of Northside High School where he was in the Blue Wind Marching Band and on the swim team. While at Northside, T.J. also took a photography class where he developed a deep love for taking pictures. He attended Middle Georgia State University before moving to work at Prima Atlanta Printer. T.J. returned home after two years in Atlanta and continued pursuing his college degree.

T.J. and his family spent many weekends at Compass Lake in Florida instilling in him a love for the water and outdoors. He enjoyed boating, swimming and hiking any chance he got. While in Atlanta, T.J. enjoyed hiking on the banks of the Chattahoochee with his dog and when he moved back home, they would often go exploring and hiking along the banks of the Ocmulgee around Amerson Park. Finally, Friendship Baptist Church was T.J.'s church home where he enjoyed time, fellowship, and faith.

He leaves his memory behind with his loving parents, Brink and Cathy Stokes, sister, Lacey Nicole Stokes, and maternal grandmother, Jeanette Jackson, all of Warner Robins; aunts and uncles, Tommy and Debbie Jackson of Warner Robins, Harmon and Jane Stokes, Betty Wiggins, and Ernest Stokes, all of Dothan, Alabama; and cousins, William and Preston McCamy, and Libby Ludwig.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Cowles and Ricky Johnson officiating. Afterwards, T.J. will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of T.J. to the Humane Society of Houston County, Inc., P.O. Box 9588, Warner Robins, GA 31095.
