Timothy Keith Childress

November 18, 1964 — September 16, 2021

Timothy Keith Childress, age 56, went to be with the Lord in Heaven on the morning of Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina on November 18, 1964. In 1971, the family moved to Georgia and eventually settled in Byron. Timothy proudly attended Northside High School; however, he fell victim to rezoning and was forced to attend Peach County High School his senior year. He graduated from PCHS in 1984, but his heart still bled blue for the Northside Eagles.

After high school, Timothy joined the United States Navy where he served as a cryptographer during Operation Desert Storm. Following eight years of service with the Navy, Timothy was honorably discharged in 1992. He soon realized that he was happiest while serving his country, and began a career in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. Timothy worked on the flight line with the F-15, but he had a passion for computers and was fortunate to obtain a position in Information Technology. When Timothy wasn’t working, you could find him playing video games, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors.

Timothy is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Medley Childress of Centerville; children, Nicole Childress, Ree Rowland and Ashley Rakes (Blake), all of Eastman, Riley Hawkins (Josh) of Cranberry, PA and Noah Perry of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Zoey Rowland, Alaric James Rakes and Thatcher Timothy-Cole Rakes; parents, William Earl and Jo Ann Childress and brothers, William Alan Childress (Kozue) and Matthew Brian Childress, all of Byron; and nieces and nephews, Christina Marie Childress, Emily Michelle Childress, Rachael Childress Marrone and Jonathan Childress.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in the garden behind The Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home, with Pastor Ed Chambless officiating.
