Trudy Ann Gomez

Trudy Gomez, loving mother, wife, and grandmother, passed away at home on Sunday, October 13, 2019. She was 60.

Born on May 8, 1959, in Aurora, Colorado, Trudy was the daughter of the late Everett and Arlene Rains. She loved her country and proudly served for four years in the United States Air Force and another four years in the Air National Guard. In the Air Force, Trudy met her husband, Fermin, while they were both stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. They were happily married for 30 years until his passing on March 14, 2015.

Following her career in the military, Trudy made a career of being a stay at home mother to her three boys. When her sons were older, she pursued a 13-year career with the Westat, Inc.; she loved the job and the opportunities it gave her to travel. Trudy was lucky to have visited every state in the U.S. and several places abroad.

In her leisure time, Trudy enjoyed quilting and was very organized and particular about the tasks she took on. She loved talking with every person she met and had a huge heart and fondness for helping others. Trudy recently moved to Centerville to be in an area with good weather and to be closer to her very dear friend, Debra Howell. She lived a full life and left her family and friends with countless memories to be treasured.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fermin Gomez.

She is survived by her loving sons, Justin Gomez (Cynthia), Gabriel Gomez, and Jesse Gomez; granddaughter, Ariana Gomez; sisters, Becky Land, Nancy Abila, Nona Leigh, Dixie Johnston, and Shawna Stoltzfus; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
