Tsgt. Samuel L. Tingler

May 4, 1929 — August 16, 2018

TSgt. Samuel Lewis Tingler, USAF (Ret.), 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018.

Mr. Tingler was born on May 4, 1929 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Samuel and Indiola Tingler. A captivating story teller, he loved watching western movies and listening to country music. Remodeling homes brought him satisfaction as he performed the work himself. He was also a skillful automobile mechanic that enjoyed taking care of his children’s cars. He was a connoisseur of good food and was quite the cook himself. Mr. Tingler devoted his life to serving his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force. Following his Air Force retirement, he continued for another 20 years in civil service as a civil engineer on Robins Air Force Base. He was proud of all of his accomplishments in life, but the thing that brought him the most joy was spending time with his beloved family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Tingler.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 20 years, Ann Tingler of Warner Robins; son, Steven Tingler (Arlene); daughters, Kim L. Tingler and Belinda Arnett; step-daughters, Andrea Miller and Bettina Sperry; grandchildren, Stephanie Arnett, James Michael Allen, Larry Goodwin, Jr., and Christopher Bowers; sister, Eloise Arrington; and a host of other extended family members and friends.

The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
