Vance C. Hubble, Jr.

July 7, 1930 — June 21, 2008

Vance C. Hubble, Jr, 77, entered into rest on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Serenity Gate Hospice Center in Perry, Georgia after a brief illness.

Mr. Hubble was born on July 7, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Mr. Vance C. Hubble, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Eleanor Hubble. With pride and honor, he served in the United States Navy having enlisted the day after his high school graduation. Through the Navy, he found his love for the sea and continued with scuba diving, among many other hobbies, including guns, cars, motorcycles and entrepreneurship that demonstrated his compassion and sense of fun. Many know him from the family owned restaurant, Hubble's Lunch, in downtown Albany that he managed until its closing. Vance had a brilliant mind and a sense of humor that demanded admiration. As he leaves to begin his new journey, he will be dearly missed by all.

His parents, Vance C. Hubble, Sr. and Mary E. Hubble; brother (Hartwell); wife, Odessa Harper Hubble and a son, Norman Lewis Hubble preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his family, Yuba Nilsen, mother to his four children and lifelong friend, his two daughters Sandra Hubble White of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Mary Eleanor Hubble Kaisler (Mike) of Warner Robins, his son Vance Edward Allen Hubble (Eun Mi) of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and dog Sandy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the Crown Hill Cemetery Chapel in Albany, Georgia.
