Velma B. Gilliard

Velma B. Gilliard, 86, entered into rest on Thursday, March 6, 2008.

Mrs. Gilliard was born on November 4, 1921 in Waycross, Georgia. She was a seamstress for twenty-eight years. Macon Wesleyan Church was her church home. Her husband, Rev. G. C. Gilliard, parents, Rev. Virdie and Mrs. Janie Bailey, daughter, Dorothy Ammons, son, Louis Gilliard, daughter, Janelle Gilliard, brother, Virdie F. Bailey, preceded her in death.

Family members include her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2008 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be held Monday, March 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, Waycross, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Macon Wesleyan Church, 2171 Forest Hill Road, Macon, GA 31210.
