Velma Lorene Gigliotti

Velma Lorene Gigliotti, 87, entered into rest on Monday, February 7, 2011.

Mrs. Velma Gigliotti was born on May 18, 1923 in Barnard, Missouri. She was the daughter of Everett and Mina Throckmorton Tapscott. In 1936 the family moved to Lamonia, Iowa where she attended Scott's Elementary, graduated from Lamonia High and attended Graceland College for one year, before moving in 1942 to Kansas City, Missouri. On August 14, 1944 she married the love of her life Frank Gigliotti in Kansas City, Missouri. They were married until his passing August 16, 1981. A retired supervisor of thirty-three years with AT&T. Mrs. Gigliotti was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church where she was a member of the Daughter's of Isabelle Circle #881, Alter Society #4, the Refuge of Sinners and the AT&T Pioneers.

Her parents, Everett O. Tapscott and Nancy Mina Throckmorton Tapscott, brother, Cleo E. Tapscott preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Connie Wood (Harry), Warner Robins; sons, Patrick Gigliotti (Mary Lynn), John Gigliotti (Mary Elaine), sister-in-law, Dorothy Tapscott, all of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Hunt officiating. Funeral services will be held in Kansas City, Missouri. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64138. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to: The American Heart Association GA.
