Verna Johnston Broussard, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2005 with visitation to follow from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Houston County 103 Westbridge Drive Warner Robins, Ga. 31088, American Cancer Society 804 Cherry Street Ste. Mrs. Broussard was born in Elmore County, Alabama. She was a Christian of the Catholic faith and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 1965 having served on the council for Catholic women. She was a pink lady at Houston Medical Center for 35 years. She was also a member of the civilian wives club for 30 years. Her parents, William and Ruby Johnston; sister, Marguerite Jarrell, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Irby Broussard, Warner Robins, Georgia; son, Ronald J. (Sharon) Broussard, Centerville, Georgia; sisters, Opal D. (Leon) Holmes, Warner Robins, Georgia; Rebecca “Becky” (Bill) Shirley, Prattville, Alabama; brothers, James Johnston, Warner Robins, Georgia; Robert H. Johnston, Montgomery, Alabama; William Johnston, Warner Robins, Georgia; Renford (Rennie) Johnston, Wetumpka, Alabama; Virgil R. (Kaye) Johnston, Montgomery, Alabama; Freddie (Virginia) Johnston, Montgomery, Alabama; and grandson, Joseph Patrick Broussard, Centerville, Georgia.
