Violet Lynell Hayslip

Violet Lynell Hayslip, 75, entered into rest on Monday, July 16, 2012.

Mrs. Hayslip was born on January 16, 1937 in Cordele, Georgia. Of the Baptist faith, she attended Friendship Baptist Church of Lake Sinclair. Violet retired from the State of Georgia where she was an Educator, teaching Nursing to many L.P.N.'s in the Middle Georgia Area at Middle Georgia Technical College. She was a graduate of Crisp County High School, received a Nursing Degree from Georgia Southwestern University, and completed her Master's degree at University of Georgia. Violet was a generous, loving person who never wavered her servant's heart to help those in need. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her. Her beloved husband of fifty-five years, Onzelo Curtis Hayslip passed away in April 2012, and her parents, Walter and Flonnie Harris Smith, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Anthony Harris Hayslip (Rita), King, North Carolina; Dr. Curtis Onzelo Hayslip (Jennifer), Macon; grandchildren, Jordan, Grant, and Vivian Hayslip; step-grandchildren, Ryan Ethridge and Tremaine, Gene, and Janette Nukie; sister, Barbara Hayslip, Goose Creek, South Carolina; brother in law, Loran Lee Hayslip (Janice); several nieces, nephews and so many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 18, from 6: 00 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Mobley Cross officiating. Entombment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Southern Care Hospice, 5233 Riverside Drive, Suite 8, Macon, Georgia 31210.
