Vivian Louise Sledge

Vivian Louise Sledge, 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.

Louise was born on May 12, 1928 in Parma, Missouri to the late William E. and Bessie L. Place Porter. In 1948, she married her husband, Ray, whom she celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary with this past Monday. Louise was a devoted wife, loving mother and wonderful homemaker. She dedicated her life to her family and helping others.

On top of raising her family, Louise was crafty and creative. She used her imagination to become a major quilter and seamstress, and also enjoyed painting. She called Warner Robins Church of Christ her church home.

With heavy hearts, Louise will be fondly remembered with endless happy memories by all who knew her.

Her son, Kenneth Wayne Sledge; parents; and brothers, Wilbur and Wendell Porter, all preceded her in death.

Louise's memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 66 years, Ray Sledge of Warner Robins; children, Patti Lynn Davis (Steve) of Bonaire and Donald Ray Sledge of Prescott, Arizona; grandchildren, Daniel Davis (Sherri), Johnny Davis, Jennifer, Jason and April Sledge, Chelsea Henriques and Julie Moore; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Naomi Gosnell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; brother, Leonard A. Porter of Missouri; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Fellowship Room at Warner Robins Church of Christ. Burial will be private.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to Warner Robins Church of Christ, 1947 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
