Walter Edward Parrish, 79, entered into rest on Thursday evening, June 23, 2011.

Mr. Parrish was born on January 22, 1932 in Woodland, Mississippi. He was a member of Christian Hope Church. With pride and honor he was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also employed with Shoe City as a Coordinator. His son, Eddie Parrish, grandson, baby Jonathan Arehart, and his parents, John Bill Parrish and Elvi Gardner Parrish, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Carol Parrish, Centerville; daughters, Linda Wardell (Van) and Judy Arehart; grandchildren, Captain Durand Tanner, USMC (Kami); Petty Officer Joseph C. Arehart, USN (Eleonor); Emily Anderson (Greg), Callie Nicholes (Marcell), Shane Parrish, Casey Parrish; as well as nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 25, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Christian Hope Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2011. Interment will be at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday in Union Hill Church Cemetery, Pearson, Georgia.
