Wilbur Horne, Jr.

On the evening of Monday, November 6, 2017, Wilbur Horne, Jr. went to heaven surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old.

Wilbur was born in Chester, Georgia on January 1, 1943 to the late Evelyn Fox and Wilbur Horne, Sr. He graduated from Dublin High School and went on to become the owner and operator of Horne’s Barber Shop for 43 prosperous years. Wilbur was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved fast cars and doting on his two beautiful granddaughters who were the highlight of his life. The Assembly at Warner Robins was his church home.

In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron Horne; his sister, Judy Wright; and his brother, Larry Horne.

His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted wife of 55 years, Linda Faye Horne of Kathleen; children, Angie Horne of Warner Robins and Stephen Horne (Angelyn) of Perry; granddaughters, Alana and Rebecca Horne, both of Perry; siblings, Wayne Horne (Margie) and Freddie Horne, both of Warner Robins and Kaye Wilder of Jacksonville, Florida; mother-in-law, Evelyn Alligood of Dexter, Georgia; brother-in-law, Phil Wright of Athens, Georgia; and sisters-in-law, Ann Brown (Paul) and Patsy Brantley (Virgil).

Wilbur will be laid to rest in a graveside funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Pastor Richard Azbell officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Mr. Horne to the Missions Fund at the Assembly, 6040 Watson Blvd., Byron, GA 31008 or to Serenity Hospice, 1057 N. Houston Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
